As soon as I started to get actively involved in the studies of the European history, some gcse coursework english papers I wrote on Italy brought me to the new information about the Verona Arena at which the Verona Opera Festival
is held every summer. I was quickly intrigued by the mystery of the third largest amphitheater that was built in the very heart of Italy at the very turn of epochs, in 30 AD. I could hardly imagine being the part of such ancient history, sitting in the Verona Arena and enjoying the live performance of outstanding opera singers known in the whole world... However, my dreams came true and I was presented with a ticket to the Verona Festival for my birthday. I was very happy and that evening was completely unforgettable in my life – the open-air amphitheater, the beautiful lighting, performance, costumes, everything seemed to be unreal and brought me to some other world of beauty, luxury, and art.
This is why this year I am also planning a visit to Verona at the time when the festival will be held; I have read about the great performance of Aida and Figaro that I am planning to visit. The singers participating in the staging of “Aida” are Micaela Carosi
, Amarilla Nizza, and Hui He. I read so much about them that I am eager to hear them perform live. And I am surely planning to work on writing my dissertation about Aris Argiris and Dalibor Jenis in “Figaro”, my favorite opera forever.
Excited!
